Piese alternator :
carcasa , rotor , stator , rulmenti rotor , carbuni sau perii , inele colectoare , ventilatoare , regulator de tensiune , punte redresoare .
Alternatorul , sau generatorul de curent , reprezinta agregatul , care pus in functiune de motorul masinii , genereaza curent pentru toti consumatorii unui autovehicul .
Constructiv , este format din stator , compus din trei bobine , in care ia nastere curentul trifazic , rotorul bobinat prevazut cu doua piese polare , sub forma de gheara prin care se realizeaza polii aparenti , puntea de diode , care are rolul de a transforma tensiunea alternativa de la bornele alternatorului in tensiune continua .
Rotorul , care primeste curent electric , prin intermediul inelelor colectoare si periile alimentatoare , denumite si carbuni , produce un camp magnetic , in interiorul alternatorului , care in timpul rotatiei , intersecteaza bobinele statorului , producand in infasurarile acestuia un curent electric trifazat . Tensiunea electrica trifazata culeasa la bornele alternatorului , este transformata in tensiune continua, dupa cum s- a mai aratat , de catre puntea de diode , formata dintr-un numar de sase diode , montate in asa fel , incat la intrare sunt alimentate cu tensiunea alternativa trifazata , iar la iesire , furnizeaza tensiune continua pe doua borne , dintre care una este legata la masa .
Turatia motorului , fiind proportionala cu turatia alternatorului , se variaza fluxul magnetic , care intersecteaza infasurarea statorului , influentand tensiunea de la bornele alternatorului . Deoarece pentru alimentarea consumatorilor , este necesara o tensiune constanta , de 14.2 volti , se simte nevoia de a controla tensiunea transmisa la bobina rotorului , in asa fel , incat o data cu cresterea turatiei alternatorului , tensiunea de la bobina rotorului , sa scada , rezultand in final o tensiune constanta la borne . Reglajul tensiunii la bobina alternatorului , este realizat de catre releul regulator .
Pentru racirea alternatorului , se recurge la ventilatoare , montate in interiorul carcasei , sau in exterior .
